The 5-Minute Token Launch Checklist Every Solana Trader Needs

New tokens launch on Solana every few minutes. Here's a repeatable checklist to evaluate any token in 5 minutes or less.
Speed kills opportunities. A system saves them.
A new token launches. You have minutes, not hours, to decide: buy, skip, or watch. The difference between catching a 10x and getting rugged is how fast you can process the same data everyone else has.
This checklist compresses hours of analysis into five minutes. Learn it. Practice it. Make it automatic.
Minute 1: The liquidity check
Open the token on Solscan or Birdeye. Three questions:
- Is liquidity locked? Check the LP lock duration. Minimum 30 days. Anything less is a pass.
- Are LP tokens burned? If the dev holds LP tokens, the rug pull can happen any second.
- What's the initial liquidity size? Below $10K is a dust launch. $50K+ signals serious intent.
Fail this check? Stop here. The token is not worth your time.
Minute 2: The supply check
Holder distribution is the fastest way to spot a setup for a dump.
- Top 10 holder concentration: Under 20% is healthy. 20-40% is risky. Over 40% is a scam setup.
- Dev wallet holdings: Does the deployer wallet still hold a large %? If yes, they haven't distributed fairly.
- Clustered wallets: Run a quick check on whether the top holders were all funded from the same source. Falcontrace's wallet clustering flags this automatically.
Minute 3: The smart money check
This is the most important minute. Are proven profitable wallets buying this token?
- Open Alpha Radar in Falcontrace. Search for the token.
- Check if any wallets in the top 10% of profitability have entered.
- Check the buy timing: did they enter in the first hour (early discovery) or after the chart pumped (FOMO)?
Zero smart money buys after two hours? The token lacks institutional conviction.
Minute 4: The volume check
Not all volume is real. Distinguish organic activity from farming.
- Unique traders vs. total transactions: 1000 transactions from 20 wallets is a bot farm. 200 transactions from 150 wallets is organic.
- Trade size distribution: Mostly $10-$100 trades? Retail interest. Mostly $1000+ trades? Whale accumulation.
- Holder growth rate: Accelerating holder count in the first 6 hours is the strongest bullish signal.
Minute 5: The contract check
Two things to verify if you can read basic Solana contract data:
- Ownership renounced? If not, the dev can change rules mid-game.
- Mint authority disabled? If the dev can mint new tokens, your value gets diluted.
Use RugCheck or Solscan's contract view. If either flag is red, walk away.
The decision matrix
After five minutes, you have three options:
- All checks pass + smart money buying: Enter with a defined position size and trailing stop.
- All checks pass but no smart money: Add to watchlist. Check back in 2 hours.
- Any red flag: Skip. There are always more tokens.
Speed comes from practice
Run this checklist on 10 tokens today. By the 5th one, you'll do it in three minutes. By the 10th, two minutes. Within a week, you'll spot rug pulls and potential 10x tokens in seconds.
Falcontrace speeds this up further — it pre-checks liquidity, holder concentration, and smart money activity so the data is ready before you open the token page.
